June 1944. Europe is engulfed in the turmoil of war as preparations for the Normandy landings reach a fever pitch. Denis Porte faithfully carries out his daily duties at a British military base—though the base itself is a ruse. His role is to maneuver fake soldiers, creating a clever deception to mislead the enemy. In the Porte family, heroism is a legacy, with fathers and sons sacrificing everything for France. For this reason, Porte refuses to put his life at risk, knowing his mother will only accept him guarding a fictitious base. However, everything changes when he meets Sami, an Algerian doctor with dreams of meeting De Gaulle. One spirited, drunken evening, they decide to join the real fight. Bravely (and somewhat inebriated), they set off—only to realize they have the wrong date and place. Combine that with a hero reluctant to face danger, and you get a near D-Day adventure filled with uncertainty and courage.
