After spending several years in Oslo, Lena returns to Sápmi in northern Norway with her young son to delve into Sami gender identity through an art project. While conducting her research amidst the snowy tundra, she falls deeply in love with Máhtte, a reindeer herder. However, Máhtte’s mother—the matriarch of their family—disapproves of their relationship. Confronted by unresolved issues from the past, Lena faces the challenge of determining if their contrasting ways of life can truly coexist.
