A major twist in Season 5 centered around Mindy, portrayed by Ashley Park. After Nicolas de Leon (Paul Forman) reentered her life, Mindy appeared to move past previous conflicts and even accepted his marriage proposal during a romantic gondola ride in Venice.
However, lingering feelings between Mindy and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) complicate this new chapter. Ashley Park revealed that her character tends to avoid the easy choices.
“Mindy always chooses the harder path when she believes it’s right,” the actress shared.
Series creator Darren Star admitted that the unexpected chemistry between Mindy and Alfie took even the writers by surprise.

Another pivotal storyline involves the fate of Agence Grateau. To prevent the agency from facing severe financial troubles, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) brought in a “white knight” investor.
Though this move could stabilize the business, it also raises concerns about the agency’s autonomy and the team’s future. According to the showrunners, the repercussions of this decision will be a central focus in Season 6.
