In the final month of summer 2008, just before starting high school, a 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy, eager to discover himself, embarks on a journey of self-discovery. Through experiences his family can't provide—learning to skate, navigating new flirtations, and understanding the depths of maternal love—he begins to shape his identity and embrace the complexities of growing up.
