At the outset of the modern age, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, sailing under the Spanish flag, sets out on a daring voyage to discover the earliest westward route to the Spice Islands. His fleet ventures into the unknown Pacific Ocean, confronting severe challenges such as starvation, mutiny, and the mental strain of traversing vast, uncharted waters. When Magellan finally arrives on the island of Cebu, his efforts to promote Catholicism lead to a deadly clash with local inhabitants, ultimately resulting in his tragic demise.
